Weekly Round Ups
WB: 30th September 2024
We have written and created book covers for our final versions of I'll Take You to Mrs Cole in English.
We have been ordering numbers to 10,000 in maths and thinking about the Place Value of the digits.
In our Computing lessons we have been learning how the internet works through routers and what makes up websites, as well as exploring lots of different websites!
We celebrated Noah's birthday at the beginning of the week too.
Our Vision winner was Noah this week!
Here is a photo of the books we have published:
WB: 23rd September 2024
A great week of writing our own versions of the story I'll Take you to Mrs Cole in English.
We have been counting in multiples of 25 in Maths and finding songs to sing to help us learn our Times Tables ready for the times Tables Test (Year 4 only).
We have also been singing and playing instruments to Abba's song 'Mamma Mia' - so please play it at home and sing along if you can.
We celebrated Hunter's birthday this week as well!
Our vision winner was Amelie.
This is the 4 times tables song we have been learning and found easiest to remember, can you find any good ones at home?

A busy week with learning a story to help with our writing in English called 'I'll take you to Mrs Cole', see if the class can remember the story from the story map (see picture below)
In Maths we have been looking at number lines to 10,000 and ensuring we know the place value of each digit.
In Geography we have been looking at recycling and the life cycle of plastic bottles, hopefully you are recycling as much as you can at home.
We celebrated Amelie's birthday this week as well!
Our vision winner was Evie.
A big thank you for the amazing homework that has come in from last week - we have enjoyed looking at all the different designs - Mr Bassett even came in to have a look!
WB: 9th September 2024
We have had a great first full week in Roald Dahl Class.
The class have settled in well and it has been fun getting to know each other.
We have learned some interesting facts about Roald Dahl and read one of his stories 'The Magic Finger'.
We also celebrated Emily's birthday!
Our Vision winner was Jesse.
Last Week's winner was Theo.
Friday 13th September is Roald Dahl Day!
We celebrated by creating our own Marvelous Medicine Recipes in English and then becoming chocolate inventors (and tasters!) in the afternoon - we designed our own chocolate bars, after tasting some possible ingredients first of course...
Roald Dahl Day 13/9/24
Termly Overview
Homework
Please try and ensure your child has read on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - these are the days we will be checking their contact books and listening to some children read.
Each Friday children will bring home their spellings homework and another piece of homework. Spelling tests will be taken on Fridays, the children will be tested on 5 random words from the spelling list they have taken home.
Please keep the spellings homework at home until Friday, or take a copy of the words to practise each day.
Children have also been given their TT Rockstars login letters with their usernames and passwords on, and will be receiving a login for Spelling shed, where they can also practise their spellings each week, as well as play other spelling games.

Each Wednesday we do our 'Big Maths, Beat That' tests.
Children are given a set of questions to answer in an allocated time and if they get all the corrections correct twice, they move on to the next level.
The children bring their tests home once they have done them, please practise timed similar questions if you have a chance, as the children should be able to recall these number facts speedily and easily.
