We are into Term 2!
Week 3
In English we have been thinking about what might happen if Beegu came to visit our school and writing a mini recount of her adventures.
In Maths we have been partitioning numbers into tens and ones.
In RE we have been thinking about how people can care for the world and others who may need extra help in the form of donations to Charity - which linked nicely to supporting Diabetes UK by wearing blue today.
Week 2
In English this week we have been looking at the book Beegu, linked to the crash site.
In Maths we have been adding and subtracting using different methods, such as counting on / back, using number lines and counting on our fingers.
In PE we have been looking at a 'Chest Pass' in Netball wiyh Mr Thacker.
Week 1
I was happy to see all the children coming back to school smiling. We have had a busy week!
We have been investigating the alien space crash in our English lessons this week.

In Maths we have been looking at fact families - adding and subtracting the same 3 numbers in different ways.
Eg.
4+6=10
6+4=10
10-4=6
10-6-4
In Science we have enjoyed exploring our new topic all about Everyday Materials.

Week 6
A great end to the term!
In English we have been looking at different stories and completing some reading comprehensions.
In Maths we are looking at doubles and near doubles.
In PE this term we have enjoyed learning some techniques needed for Tag Rugby with Mr Thacker and Mr Rolfe.

Week 5
In English we have started writing out own versions of the Bob the Bubble Story.
In Maths we have been looking at addition within 10 and 20.
In Science we had lots of fun making our pets:

Week 4
In English we have contiued to learn the story of Bob the Bubble and use time adverbs to help us sequence our sentences.

In Maths we have been learning about part whole models and number bonds.

In PSHE we have been talking about different emotions and how we can help people with different feelings.

Week 3
This week we have started to learn a new story called Bob the Bubble in English, we will use it to help make up our own stories.
In Maths we have been comapring numbers using the less than, greater than or equal to symbols.
In Science we have enjoyed investigating which material is the best for soaking up a puppy puddle!

Week 2
Another fun week this week!
In English we have been looking at the Room on the Broom story and using adjectives to describe the characters.
In Maths we have been working on one more and one less than numbers.
We enjoyed collecting woodlice and creating habitats in the classroom for them (we even held them!)

In Art we created some amazing natural art work pictures, using objects we found outside to inspire us:

Week 1
What a great start to the new school year!
The children settled back into school really quickly and have been working well together and approaching the work so far with a positive attitude!
In Maths we have been looking at Place Value and representing numbers to 10.
In English we have been looking at adjectives, using the Gruffalo as inspiriation to create and describe our own monsters.
In Science this week we went on a habitat hunt to see what creatures we might find lurking around our school grounds...we found a few different things!

Children are given a set of questions to answer in an allocated time and if they get all the corrections correct twice, they move on to the next level.
The children bring their tests home once they have done them, please practise timed similar questions if you have a chance, as the children should be able to recall these number facts speedily and easily.
