Here are some suggestions and ideas of things to do to support your child's learning for the week ahead (30th March - 3rd April). I look forward to speaking to you soon!
Reading
This text is central to the learning this week. You can choose the difficulty of the text and the corresponding questions based on the star rating shown in the document (three star - most challenging).
Writing
There are two writing tasks this week. Task 1 is an extension of our learning that took place before our school closure. Task 2 is an opportunity to be inventive and creative.
Maths
There are two tasks for Maths. Task 1 is the Mystery of the Winning World Book Day Costume and Task 2 is a range of algebra challenges that build on our previous learning.
Something else
This activity links directly to this week's reading comprehension. It is your opportunity to make your own paper helicopter. Why not try and create your own investigation? (If you cannot print the resource, try carefully to draw the template with a pencil and ruler).
Hello to everyone in Louis Sachar Class, and to parents and carers of. We hope that you are all safe and well in these most bizarre of times!
We would like to begin by politely reminding you of our Learning Platform webpage: it is here that you will find a list of really useful websites to support your child’s learning, and would recommend directing your child to this webpage as often as possible – it has been a lifesaver for keeping my own children busy! We will continuously update the Learning Platform page as and when we here about new websites and resources.
We will be updating this page (our Home Learning page) weekly with new work and learning for the week ahead. We will aim to choose tasks that will not require a huge number of resources, that are easy to direct you to and that will allow your child to work mostly independently.
Personally, we are really looking forward to using Google Suite: as a platform it will allow the children to work collaboratively and allow us to give children feedback, just as we would in a classroom environment.
Best wishes – we will be in contact soon!
