Life in all its fullness

Week 3

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and are all safe and well! Here are a few things to keep you busy this week.

SPELLING

Well done to Hope, Seren and William who currently sit in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively on our Spelling Shed leader board. Remember the Shed Score is based on your last 7 days of spelling so have a go this week everyone!

READING

This week our reading comprehension is about British rapper and musician Stormzy. Remember that 3 stars is the most difficult text and set of questions, so choose the most suitable for you.

WRITING

Our writing task this week is inspired by this week's reading comprehension and rap icon Stormzy. The task is to write your own lyrics for a poem or rap about anything that inspires or interests you. It could be about food, friends, pets, or if needs must, your experience of self-isolation. It might even be performed to the rhythm of one of your favourite songs. But make sure it rhymes and make sure that you attach your name!

If you can remember your login to Google Suite – then type your poem/rap into the document that I have set-up online. However, if you are unable to login to Google Suite, then please e-mail your rap/poem to the school office.

I will upload these to our class page and school website at the end of the week! Good luck!

MATHS

This week our learning is all about area, perimeter and volume. Please use the Knowledge Organiser (first document) as a tool to help you understand how to calculate area, perimeter and volume. Give everything your best shot!

When you've completed these activities, why not calculate the area, perimeter and volume of objects around your house and garden using a tape measure. You may even start estimating the answers to some of the calculations when you become confident. The more you measure, the better the estimator you’ll become!

SOMETHING ELSE

The task this week is to design and create a musical instrument from bits and bobs in the house! E-mail a picture of you and your musical instrument to the school office and we will be sure to add them to the school gallery.
