St Mark's C.E Primary School

Life in all its fullness

The home learning for this term is linked to our Rochester Riverside Project. It continues to look at Rochester but moves it's focus onto the bridge.

Below is a map of Rochester which includes the key landmark features of Rochester Cathedral, Rochester Castle, Strood Bridge and the River Medway.

Can you identify where our new sister school Rochester Riverside will be built?

Mrs. Taylor CEO presented Max, Freddy, Owen and Phoebe with Highly Commended Certificates for their bridge models. Emily was awarded a certificate for her research into the history of the bridge.

We displayed our home learning at the parent consultation evenings.

Parent/Carer Comments

“We had lots of fun over half term making our model bridge and discussing the different castles we have visited. It’s an interesting and important topic which I think the children really enjoyed! It was wonderful to see everyone’s model bridges and castle creations at the school today. The children have tried so hard and it really shows how much they have learnt with the high standard of work that was on display.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Holly Morrison

”It was nice that both children learnt about castles at the same time across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and were able to discuss their learning with each other at home.”                                                                                                                                                                        Mrs. Morris

"It was lovely to see the school come together on a project. We enjoyed looking at the information and artwork on castles. It was obvious how much the children had enjoyed their learning. The bridges the children had made as part of their home learning were amazing."
