Life in all its fullness

Weekly News

Week beginning 16.11.20

In maths this week we have been creating line graphs and bar charts to represent data.

In English, we have been writing a narrative based on our class book 'The Nowhere Emporium' and getting ready to write our own chapter of the story.

We used Google Classroom to complete our science learning about melting points and in topic we created our own murals inside some tiny temples.

Well done to Daisy F for winning the trust award this week.  Daisy can always be trusted to work exceptionally hard in all of our lessons.

Week beginning 01.11.20

In maths this week we have been solving multi-step word problems and in English we used formal and informal language when writing letters.

In science, we investigated states of matter, making careful observations as a shower gel turned to foam.

In topic, we learnt about the Mayan god who introduced chocolate (or "chocolatl") to the Mayan people.  We then drank some hot chocolate to warm us up on a cold afternoon outside!

Week beginning 12.10.20

This week we have been outside making musical instruments, using our knowledge from the term to change the volume and pitch of the sounds.

In art, we created some headdresses linked to our topic of the Ancient Mayans.

We have now finished reading the book 'Krindlekrax' during our Guided Reading lessons and have almost finished our class read 'The Legend of Podkin One-Ear'.  The excitement for story time has been amazing and we have loved both the books, writing some brilliant stories based on the characters Podkin, Paz and Pook.

Finally, well done to Jazmyn and Shane for being our "Stars of the Term" in PE.  Mr Thacker was so impressed with the attitude, skills and improvement of the whole class!

Week beginning 05.10.20

We have been really busy over the last two weeks, working extremely hard in the classroom and outside.  In RE, we looked at the 'Wow' factors of the natural world and went outside to collect things of all shapes, sizes and colours.  In science, we have been learning about sound and tried out our own string telephones.  In PSHE, we have been thinking about working together, even when we are having to stay apart.  We created some individual artwork that matched our partners in the middle.

Week beginning 07.09.20

We have had a fantastic start to the new school term and have loved being back in school after such a long time.  This week we have settled in to our new class and started some brilliant learning.  Here are some photographs of what we've been up to whilst making the most of the nice weather.
