Hello Hairy Maclary Class. We hope you enjoyed a rest over the Easter holidays (and an egg or two). Below are some tasks to keep you busy this week.
Just a reminder that on-going activities could include reading a little every day, along with practising letter formation, counting in 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s and reading and writing numbers to 100.
Spelling - or and ore
There are three different levels to choose from - please pick whichever one you think would most suit your child.
This week we would like you to focus on adding and subtracting. You may be able to do it in your head, or using your fingers. If not, you could use objects, like buttons or counters or a number line to help you.
There are some online games on the Top Marks website https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/addition-and-subtraction
Observational drawing or painting.
While out in your garden or on a walk, look out for Spring flowers and draw, colour or paint them. Aim to look closely at the size and shape of their petals, how many petals each flower has and the shades of colour that they are.
Choose an animal to make a fact sheet, leaflet or booklet about. Include: pictures, whether your animal is a mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian or fish, what it eats and therefore whether it is an omnivore, herbivore or carnivore, it's habitat and habits.
